The Group is committed to creating a safe, healthy and comfortable working environment to ensure our employees' healthy lives and well-being.

Employee Assistance

We have commenced the provision of an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) since 2001. The EAP aims to help employees to prevent, identify and resolve their personal, family or work-related concerns. Under the EAP, employees can obtain professional counselling and consultation services from an appointed service provider on a confidential basis.

Employee Well-Being

To support our employee value proposition (EVP), we organise workshops and seminars on various topics to promote the well-being of our employees. These include building a happy family, good parenting, a safe home environment for the elderly, sleep quality, health and weight management, interpersonal skills at the workplace, relaxation exercises, financial planning, managing one's MPF investment, handling stress, and keeping a healthy mind. In additional, a number of activities were held recently during EVP Weeks and Wellness Week.

We were among the first group of companies in 2002 to participate in the Hong Kong Council of Social Services Caring Company Scheme and have since been awarded the "Caring Company" recognition for over 15 consecutive years.

In addition, we have received the "Good MPF Employer" Award for six consecutive years since 2014/15, as well as the "e-Contribution" and "Support for MPF Management" Awards since 2016/17 from the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority.

Family-Friendly Working Environment

  • Volunteer service leave which was introduced in April 2015
  • Since 2016, congratulatory lai see has been given to staff members who are newly married or who have a new-born baby
  • Birthday leave, marriage leave and compassionate leave
  • Maternity leave for female employees and paternity leave for male employees that are equal to or better than the statutory provisions
  • A flexi-medical scheme which allows employees to choose their own medical coverage based on their needs and the needs of their dependents
  • Top-up insurance protection plans, health care programmes and voluntary insurance plans, such as flu vaccinations and dental plans at discounted fees, are extended to employees' family members
  • Flexible part-time work arrangements for full-time employees who are in need

We are proud to receive the "Family-Friendly Employers" award and "Awards for Breastfeeding Support" in the 2017/18 Family-Friendly Employers Award Scheme jointly organised by the Home Affairs Bureau and the Family Council. In recognition of our receiving the "Family-Friendly Employers" award thrice since 2011, we were also given a "Special Mention (Gold)" award. These awards recognise our continual efforts to ensure and enhance family-friendly policies and practices.

The Best Practice Management Group awarded us "The Best Practice Award 2015 in Employee Care". The award recognises our commitment in promoting a positive work-life balance. Work-life balance is a key part of leading a healthy lifestyle, improving motivation and achieving higher work satisfaction. We were also presented with "The Best Practice Award 2015 in Corporate Culture Development". The award recognises our efforts to build a committed and engaged workforce and to improve the well-being of our staff based on the Group's six guiding principles and values.

In our efforts to support a breastfeeding-friendly workplace, we have joined the "Say Yes to Breastfeeding" Community Support Campaign 2015/16 launched by UNICEF HK in collaboration with the Food and Health Bureau and Department of Health. As a result of this campaign, two lactation rooms were set up in August 2016 and March 2017, respectively.
