Privacy Policy Statement of Dah Sing Bank Mobile Application


Dah Sing Bank, Limited (the "Bank") respects the right to personal data privacy and is committed to complying with requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance ("PDPO").

Your device model, device OS, device ID, locations, photo album / camera, your registration details (i.e. e-Banking Login ID & password) and IP address collected in Dah Sing Bank Mobile Application (the "App") may be used by the Bank for the following purposes.

The purposes for which data relating to an app user may be used by the Bank are as follows:-

  1. to provide functionality for the App and general statistics purpose, the Bank will collect your device model, device ID, device OS, IP address and pages you visited. Such general statistics are collected to compile statistical reports and diagnose problems with, or concerning, computer systems to help improve the App and operation of the App;
  2. if you use the App for logging into your existing Dah Sing Mobile Banking service, the Bank will collect your e-Banking login ID, password, device model, device OS and IP address for identity verification and operation of Mobile Banking services;
  3. the Bank will request for your permission to access the "Notification" on your mobile device and subject to such permission, send you direct marketing materials and system maintenance notice via push notifications from the Bank. You may refuse to receive notifications at any time by turning off notification services
  4. the Bank will request for your permission to access the "Microphone" of your mobile device and subject to such permission, record voice messages by using the "Microphone" of your mobile device via the App for distributing Voice Laisee. However, the data of the "Microphone" and voice messages would not be stored or recorded in the database of the Bank;
  5. the Bank will request for your permission to access the "Camera" and / or "Photos" of your mobile device and subject to such permission, take a photo by using the "Camera" of your mobile device and / or upload a photo by using the "Photos" of your mobile device via the App for your document submission, in order to enable you to apply / use our product / service;
  6. for the "Faster Payment System" service, the Bank may access the "Camera" of your mobile device with your consent in order to enable you to scan the QR code while conducting the Faster Payment System transaction. However, the data of the camera would not be stored or recorded in the database of the Bank;
  7. for the "Faster Payment System" service, the Bank may access the "Phone Book" of your mobile device with your consent in order to enable you to select the contact data from the "Phone Book" while conducting the Faster Payment System transaction. However, only the selected phone number as the FPS payee Proxy ID would be stored or recorded in the database of the Bank while the other data of the "Phone Book" would not be stored or recorded in the database of the Bank; and / or
  8. purposes relating thereto.
